What’s the reason of no signal on tv ?
Below are some steps to help our customers to determine what’s the reason of no signal on tv.
Step 1. A Hard drive issue or HDMI Chip issue and HDMI Port issue can have the same symptoms. Follow the instruction to determine the fault. Please turn your console on and wait about 60 second, then press the sync button on the console and watch the power light. If it flashes, that means the hard drive is ok and the reason why there is no signal on Tv is in Hdmi chip or HDMI Port. If the light doesn’t flash, that means the problem is with the hard drive which is faulty and the system won’t start displaying on tv. In the most cases when your console has got the hard drive issue,it will display error code.
Step 2. Visual inspection of the HDMI Port. When the HDMI Port is damaged , you should notice that when you look at it. You can use a magnifying glass to see if the pins inside are bent. The HDMI ports in Xboxes One S and X are super strong and it’s hard to damage it. Below some examples of damaged ones.
Step 3. Also other symptoms can occur such as the console turns on and off straight away but it might be something else with the power circuit. Another symptom is flickering on 4k or 1080p resolution or cut off quite often. Sometimes you can hear the sound but no picture on the tv. Or it can work only in very low resolution 480p. Normally the hdmi chip detects your Tv’s specs and turns the console with the highest screen resolution available for the tv. But if that chip is faulty on 1080p resolution and your tv max settings are 1080p , you won’t see a picture on the screen. Then you need to reset all display settings. Turn your xbox off. In the same time press eject button and power button and keep pressing them till second beep. Just after second beep release buttons. Sometimes you need to do this a few times. This procedure will force the 480p resolution. If you can see a picture on the screen that means the hdmi chip is partially faulty, you can try to go to the settings and change the resolution manually. Sometimes the hdmi chip is completely dead and you won’t even see 480p resolution. Also some of the random dots in green or pink colour can be present on the screen.
At this point you should know, what’s the issue with your console.
